Hey, my name is Andrew

I’m a photographer and graphic designer based in West Michigan. I specialize in creating clean, intentional images that feel true to the people and brands behind them.

Before picking up a camera professionally, I had already spent nearly a decade in the food and beverage industry. That experience shapes everything I do: I understand pace, presentation, consistency, and what actually matters to guests and customers. Whether I’m photographing a new menu, a signature drink, a product launch, or the people behind the work, I’m focused on making visuals that support real goals—more attention, more trust, and more business.

I’m entirely self-taught and quick to learn new skills, tools, or methods when a project calls for it. I’m also straightforward and collaborative. My job is to make the process easy, guide you when you need it, and create work that fits who it’s for—not just what’s trending.

If you have a vision, I’d love to help you bring it to life with result-driven projects, guest-focused outcomes, and imagery that makes people want to choose you.

FAQs About My Services

What types of photography do you specialize in?

My main focus is in food, beverage, and product photography, with portraiture photography coming in close second. While those are my main focus, I pride myself in the speed I pick up new styles and new areas of focus. I don’t see other focuses as areas I can’t do, but rather areas I haven’t had the chance to dive into yet.

Do you travel for shoots?

Definitely, while I prefer to stay in West Michigan for day to day work, I am more than willing to travel if the project and scope require it.

What kinds of clients do you work with?

Anyone! I’ve worked with individuals all the way up to large companies. I’m well adept at tailoring needs to the client and what they’re vision might be.

Can you help with shot lists, styling, and creative direction?

That’s what I’m here for! I’m happy to facilitate and assist with any part of the process. I’ll work with you or your team to come up with the best plan to move forward with your vision.

What makes working with you different?

I’m a quick learner, resourceful, and straight forward. As a self-taught creative, everything I know and do was acquired by seeking out the knowledge and learning from my mistakes. My goal is to make your vision a reality, but I if I can’t, you’ll be the first to know. I wouldn’t offer you something I’m can’t stand behind.

Do you offer graphic design as well? What does that include?

I do! I’ve been a freelance graphic designer for almost a decade now. So if you’re looking to pair your media with some digital content or print needs, we can talk about that too!

Where's Your price sheet?

My main goal is to build my prices/services based off of your vision and needs. While I have a price sheet available upon request, my preference would be to start the conversation first to help tailor the pricing correctly to your needs and the scope of your project.

FAQs About Me

How did you get into photography and design?

In 2015 I spent a week living and working with a small village in Costa Rica. When I returned after that week I reviewed all of the photos on my phone and, to my dismay, they didn’t even begin to do justice to what I’d seen there.

Soon after I purchased my first camera with the goal to more accurately record all of the adventures I might go on down the road. That soon evolved into an ever deepening love for photography, graphic design, and various other mediums of art.

How has your food & beverage background shaped your work?

On one front, it has given me a deep respect for food and those that have given years of their life learning how to work with it, the same goes for the beverage side of things. I know the pain all to well of spending months trying to perfect a single cocktail before I was happy enough to have someone else even try it.

On another front, it has given me endless valuable knowledge of how to work with people of all types, how to find a common middle ground, and how to work towards an outcome that benefits both the team and the guests simultaneously.

What kinds of projects get you excited?

Though there might be some projects I lean towards, what really gets me exited is the people behind them. We could be shooting the most simple thing, but if the client I’m working with has a true passion for it, it invigorates me like nothing else!

What do you do when you’re not working?

Together with my amazing girlfriend, I live and exist in a small apartment in downtown Grand Rapids. I enjoy creating new cocktails, planning weird photoshoots, and tending to the garden I keep outback. When I can, I try to travel or at least head out camping for a bit to get into nature for a least a little awhile.

What do you like to photograph in your freetime?

Honestly? The weirder the better. I enjoy creating bizarre scenes, or creating wild themes to design a photoshoot around. My favorite shoot entailed a friend and I lugging an entire living room’s worth of furniture into a forest to create a dark academia shoot in the middle of the woods.

What's Your drink of choice?

Cocktail order? A Last Word

Wine order? Usually a Tempranillo or a Nebbiolo

Dive bar order? PBR and a shot of Fernet

What's with the crayon?

For almost 15 years now, I’ve kept a different color crayon behind my ear during my general day to day activities. And while those that know me are generally un-phased by it, it is not lost on me that it is an odd thing to do.

To me it gives 1. an opportunity to not take myself too seriously and 2. Never lose the chance to do a little coloring. You got to keep life a little whimsical, you know?
